What is cupping?

Cupping is a form of alternative medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years to help treat a wide variety of conditions. Cupping may ease pain, increase blood flow, and remove toxins from the body. There are two types of cupping therapy:

  • Dry: a suction device is used to remove the air from the cups.

  • Wet: a needle is used to puncture the skin before, and/or after cupping.

How does it work?

A special cup is placed onto the skin to create a vacuum (negative pressure). The suction force from the vacuum lifted the skin up towards the cup to increase blood flow and stimulate healing.
